Manufacturing processes are the steps through which raw materials are transformed into a  nal product. The manufacturing process begins with the creation of the materials from which the design is made. These materials are then modi ed through manufacturing processes to become the required part. Manufacturing processes can include treating, machining, or reshaping the material. The manufacturing process also includes tests and checks for quality assurance during or after the manufacturing, and planning the production process prior to manufacturing. Manufacturing takes turns under all types of economic systems. In a free market economy, manufacturing is usually directed toward the mass production of products for sale to consumers at a pro t. In a collectivist economy, manufacturing is more frequently directed by the state to supply a centrally planned economy. In mixed market economies, manufacturing occurs under some degree of government regulation. Modern manufacturing includes all intermediate processes required the production and integration of a product's
components.
