    • Presents a thorough, concise and accurate discussion of fundamentals and principles of thermodynamics.
    • Gives a detailed description of the theory along with the systematic applications of laws of Thermodynamics.
    • Motivate the readers to learn the basic concepts of engineering thermodynamics and phase and chemical reaction equilibria.

Thermodynamics is the science concerned with the relations between heat and mechanical energy or work, and the conversion of one into the other. Modern thermodynamics deals with the properties of systems for the description of which temperature is a necessary coordinate. which deals with the energy and work of a system. It was born in the 19th century as scientists were  rst discovering how to build and operate steam engines.

Thermodynamics deals only with the large scale response of a system which we can observe and measure in experiments. Small scale gas interactions are described by the kinetic theory of gases. The methods complement each other; some principles are more easily understood in terms of thermodynamics and some principles are more easily explained by kinetic theory. Thermodynamics laws describe how these quantities behave under various circumstances, and forbid certain phenomena (such as perpetual motion).
